Temple Touch Thermometer Review and Giveaway - ENDED

If you're a mom (or a dad), I'm sure you've had the pleasure of inserting a rectal thermometer into a child who already doesn't feel well, may or may not be puking, is screaming and thrashing around. Just what you want to do to a child who already feels horrible as it is. I remember almost being in tears when Ben was little and I had to do that to my poor little guy who had a fever of 104. But you need to know! A fever of 99 is a lot different than a fever of 101 and that's a lot different than a fever of 104!

What if there was a way to take a temperature without inserting anything anywhere. No more rectal thermometer. No more oral thermometer. No more trying to get a 2 year old to sit absolutely still to take their temperature in their ear.

How about a Temple Touch Thermometer? All you do is push the button, wait for it to beep twice and then hold it on the child's temple. No fuss, nothing invasive. You can even take a temp while the child is sleeping. Or, while the hubby is sleeping if he's more of a baby than the real baby.

I actually got it a while ago but haven't really had cause to use it. A good thing for the family but not so good for the review process. Well, last weekend we had cause to use it. Ben woke up and felt really warm. I told him we were going to take his temperature and he immediately started crying. I calmed him down and put something on tv for him to watch. When he was calm and paying more attention to the tv than he was to me, I snuck out the thermometer to try it out. He was a little skeptical when he heard the beeping but then he ignored it. Less than a minute later we had our results. Sure enough, he was up over 100 degrees. And there was no screaming, crying or thrashing.

It was sooo much easier! I'm sold!

But, they were all out!! They had Scott 12 packs eligible for the RR but I didn't have a coupon for those so I decided to hold off for now and go back later in the week to see if they have more.

I'm also really mad at myself. I intended to do the RR deal with the Ragu/Skippy. Buy 6, get $4 RR. I thought I had it but after we left the store I was looking at the receipt and realized I only bought 5 Skippy/Ragu products. Arrrggg!! This is one reason why I wish Walgreens did a rewards card like CVS and the grocery stores. Then you wouldn't necessarily have to buy them all in the same transaction. I'm still debating whether or not it's worth the hassle of bringing the items back and returning them and then re-buying them plus an extra. I don't know if it's worth the $4 or not...

Walgreen's Coupon Matchups

Here are this week's Walgreen's coupon matchups. Please keep in mind that these are not necessarily the best deals out there. This is only a listing of coupons that match up with sale items from this week's circular.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

1. You can stack coupons! You can use one Walgreen's coupon (either from the circular or the Easy Saver catalog, for examply) and one manufacturer's coupon.
2. Many Walgreen's stores will accept competitor's coupons. Check with your local store.
3. I have not listed every deal from the circular here - only the ones that matchup with manufacturer's coupons so make sure you check the circular so you don't miss anything!

The sippy cups, headphones and bubbles were all unexpected purchases. We just thought they were good deals and we can always use those things.

The stretchable book covers are for me. I read constantly and I love paperbackswap.com. I occasionally get hardcover books and the dust jackets always get in the way when I'm reading. I'm hoping I can use these stretchable covers instead to protect the book but not get in the way. We'll see how they work.
